Tochigi Factory manufactures parts which play an extremely important role for Honda cars, and distributes them to Honda's factories in Japan and all over the world.

Specifically, we manufacture engine parts (engine valve, crank shaft, con-rod (connecting rod), trans mission parts (trans mission gear, CVT pulley), axle parts (constant velocity joint), and 4WD parts (transfer assembly, SH-AWD, differential assembly).

Tochigi Prefecture and its Business Environment

−Progress of Development of Tochigi Factory -

In 1970, Saitama Factory, in Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, were investigating a candidate of satellite factory (separated factory) of the Sayama plant. At that time, Wako plant was suffering from the shortage of not only water supply and labor but a space for its production activities.

As a result of investigations, Komoro in Nagano Prefecture and Matsuida in Gunma Prefecture were selected as final candidates. However at the same time, we heard that "Land may be transferred" from a manufacture located in Moka Daiichi Industrial Park in Moka, Tochigi Prefecture.

Not so far from both Utsunomiya and Oyama, between Gogyo river and Kinu river, with having rich under ground water, we concluded that Nagata & Katsuuri districts in Moka was one of the best suitable site for our factory, and immediately proceeded the land acquisition. In August of the same year, we acquired a land of 8,931 square meters and established Moka Plant of Saitama Factory as a predecessor of current Tochigi Factory.

Parts produced in Tochigi Factory may look simple, but they are must-have parts for cars. They are supplied to not only its domestic plants but also Honda's factories all over the world. Tochigi Factory is playing an important role in Honda. If their parts supply are stopped, all factories of Honda in the world are severely affected.

By the leadership of Tochigi Factory's retired persons and employees, volunteer activities named "Social activities" are widely conducted. Specifically such as "Clean up operation"of the Gogyo river or "A class of cardboard craft " (making ASIMO robot or a racing car from cardboard) for children, and "Forest conservation activities" are organized.

In environmental aspect, based on the ISO 14001, all employees are working together for various environmental measures.

Also we are actively promoting recreational activities with communicating with the community residents through events such as,"a festival" planned and organized by the representative of our employees, and "A class of softball" regularly held by our women's softball team.

Since establishment of a plant for engine valve parts in 1970 in Moka for more than 40 years, Honda Tochigi Factory have been continuously supplying engine related key functional parts not only for domestic areas in Japan, but also for all over the countries in the world with strong supports from the people in Tochigi.

Amid of recent growing concerns and attentions for environmental issues, we believe, as we have been doing, it is our Honda's way to proceed and Honda's origin to create new values of technologies and products in leading the requests from the customers in the world and society.

The "Environmental control system" which generates a environment friendly environment for nature and human, as the most important foundation of our business development, Tochigi Factory is actively proceeding "Continuous improvements" and "Enhancement of environment support".
