Tochigi i27 gou

‘Tochigi i27 gou’ was released as a short-day cultivar in 2014. More vigorous than ‘Tochiotome’, and it produces runners well. Leaves are slightly pale dark green. Flowers are initiated in late September in the flatland of Tochigi prefecture. The number of flowers per first flower cluster is 5 to 7. Yield is more than 20% higher than ‘Tochiotome’. The fruit size (the fruits' average of 7 g and over) is more than about 25 g. Skin is deep orange color, and firmer than ‘Tochiotome’. Fruit shape is conical. Soluble solid content and acidity is lower than ‘Tochiotome’, but ratio of sweetness to acidity is similar. Flesh is very juicy, excellent taste. Has certain degree of resistance to powdery mildew, Fusarium wilt and anthracnose. Recommended for forcing culture.
