Followings are applicable when procedures based on laws or ordinances, etc. are required.

(The timing of procedures)

By 60 days prior to the start of construction works. However, as a substantial number of days are required for the advance consultations, preliminary investigation and excavation and research of buried cultural properties, as soon as the business planning is specified, please take a smooth entry for the advance consultations with the board of education in the relevant municipality.

(Procedure Targets)

Those who develop factories, etc. in the well-known places containing a buried cultural property.

What
(Documents)

・A notification of Excavation for Civil Engineering Work Based on paragraph (1), Article 93 of the Cultural Properties Protection Act.
(further, "Excavation" in here means civil engineering works for site development, etc.)

・The format application sheet are provided at each municipal board of education. Ｉn addition a location map (a scale of 1: 25,000) of the business operations and a plan and sectional view of the construction planning are required. For further details of the application, please ask to each municipal board of education or prefectural board of education.

Municipal Board of Education where planned factories, etc. is located.

How
(Examination Contents)

The application is submitted from the municipal board of education to the prefectural board of education. During the process, understandings and studies of the contents of the application are made, and for the treatment of said buried cultural properties (necessity of excavation and research), instructions are notified to the business operator via the municipal board of education.

Processing Period

Approximately 2 weeks (for the processing of applications).
※For the preliminary investigation and excavation and research requires additional days.
