【Cameras for Sports Live broadcasting】

Utsunomiya factory is mainly manufacturing imaging equipment, such as
broadcasting camera systems, broadcast monitors, security camera systems, medical camera systems and other various visual inspection systems (other video and audio systems, video transmissions, transmission car systems are also manufactured) . Especially broadcasting cameras, such as studio cameras, handy cameras, outdoor cameras and helicopter mounted cameras used at disasters, etc. are actively used in various scenes.

A broadcasting monitor is a kind of super high performance TV which inspects video-images at broadcasting center before transmitting them to every home. In addition to the fields of broadcasting, monitors having slightly different technical elements, are operating at platforms in stations for safety checking by train attendants or staffs in stations.

A security camera is called as a safety camera or a super BOHAN (crime prevention in a supermarket). They are installed at the east and west entrance of Utsunomiya station, Imaizumi elementary school, and Imaichi station and so on, so you may have seen them.

Medical camera systems, including medical cameras and monitors, are used in various medical treatment sites.

Visual inspection equipment utilizes the image processing technics to inspect products or produces and are available for pharmaceuticals (granules, powder, tablets) or fruits. Other products including digital recording equipment (voice recording equipment utilizing HDD) used in aviation bureaus.

Location environment of Tochigi for the Factory

We had developed Utsunomiya Factory in 1969. At the time we moved in to Utsunomiya Industry Park, only forest was surrounding us, but now many neighbors are available.
Recently we had integrated our factories into Utsunomiya and Shonan.

The first reason for the integration to Utsunomiya is few natural disasters in this area. We believe, it is the biggest advantage that we can manage our corporate activities safely in here.

Second reason is good transportation infrastructure. It is important to have a good access to Tokyo in our business. Utsunomiya is very convenient having a station of Shinkansen which directly connected to Tokyo station. A low taxi fare from the station to our factory is one of the attracting points. Expressways located in close distance are also advantageous.

This factory site is a very good location. It is amazing that our company had set an eye on here in such a long time ago in between 1967 to 1968.

【Studio Camera for Broadcasting】

As explained previously, Ustunomiya Factory's products consists of 4 major categories, broadcasting cameras, security cameras, monitors, and inspection equipment.

・Broadcast Cameras
They had been produced at Ikegami Factory (in Haneda, Tokyo) originally, and were transferred to Utsunomiya Factory in December 2009. All broadcast cameras equipped in the NHK hall (place for Kohaku-Utagassen) including fixed or handy types, are manufactured and supplied by us. It is our pride of shooting the popular Kohaku-Utagassen program by our cameras for broadcasting. Also we are proud of that the reasons selected and used by NHK are "Reliability (less problems) and "Very clear images" of our products.

Our products are operating at Tokyo dome, the Houses of Parliament, etc.
Outside-helicopter mounted cameras (disaster monitoring camera:high definition camera) were provided to public government offices also.

・Security Cameras
They are playing an active role for crime or accident prevention. For example in Utsunomiya station for crime prevention.

・Monitors
Used for monitoring of security at stations or watching safety of platforms by station staffs. And medical monitors are installed at surgical rooms where we can not see often.

・Inspection Equipment
Inspection equipment is an unique and hot-selling product. In the past, they were mainly used at domestic companies but recently receiving more inquiries from Asian countries such as South Korea and India.

By the integration with the former Ikegami Factory in April 2010, two new buildings were additionally built. We are looking forward to produce further quality of products at the newly built facilities.

Contributing Local Community

Let us introduce our three major local contributing activities in 2010.

Firstly, in October 30, 2010, a public open class was held at Miyuki elementary school in Utsunomiya. It was titled as "The blue planet earth seeing from the moon" for the pupils. Our company built a high-definition camera equipped on the lunar orbiter "Kaguya". A development story of the camera with the demonstration of a studio camera (manipulated with pupils) was performed by our manager who designed the camera for "Kaguya", and it was well accepted with great interests.

We believe, by having such opportunities which attendants could directly manipulate a broadcasting camera, all attended pupils and their parents feel our company as a closer entity.

We hope that this kind of opportunities also help to increase pupil's interests for Monozukuri and scientific technologies, and further help to enrich their own futures.

Secondly, three internship students from Utsunomiya technical high school had experienced to work in the company.

At last, one of our manager in the Inspection department was dispatched to Kinu junior high school as an instructor for lecture.

Founded in 1946 as Ikegami Tsushinki Seisakusho, we had started a production of trans formers, choke-coils, and power source equipment in the post-war era when a few commodities are available.
Eventually, by the technical assistance on TV broadcasting from NHK, we could produce broad casting cameras, monitors and other equipment.

All our current products are not so well-known by general public because of special industry equipment. We would like to say "Please try it once", but because of it's high price of the broadcast cameras which has almost same price as a passenger car, it may be very seldom to have an opportunity to use it. (in the price, lenses are not included. lenses are made by other companies, and it also not so cheap.)
