In 1951, for the purpose of manufacturing and sales of industrial vehicles, Hirata Vehicle Industry (predecessor of Hirata Corporation ) was established in Kumamoto in Kumamoto Prefecture. In 1968 Kanto Plant was established.
Hirata Corporation consists of four divisions and manufactures following products.

• Automotive related production facilities
  Engine,Transmission assembly line, Automotive parts assembly line, Reflow oven and mounter for hybrid drive units, etc.
• Flat Panel Display (FPD) related production facilities
  Glass substrate transfer system, Head coater ( & head coater system), HD assembly system, Solar panel related production system, etc.
• Semi Conductor related production facilities
  Wafers transportation robot (and wafers transportation system), Load port(FOUP opener),EFEM（Equipment Front End Module）, etc.
• L＆M(Logistics & Material Handling) related production facilities
  FPD module･TV casette assembly lines, Refrigerator assembly line, Tire forming, etc.
• Transportation system, Tire sorting rack stocker , Material handling stocker facilities, etc.

From heavy industries to nanotechnology industries, the company delivers production facilities and equipment in wide variety of fields for all over the world. This is a production engineering manufacturer, Hirata Corporation.

Tochigi Prefecture and its Business Environment

It was a trigger of starting this plant that one of our business partner gave us an invitation when they built their Utsunomiya factory. There was a concern at the beginnings that this kind of large land area (about 50,000 m2) in Utsunomiya Industrial Park may not be needed, but now site is fully occupied with 7 buildings and the Technical Center opened in 2012..

In Tochigi Prefecture, there are many customers of electric manufacturers or automotive manufacturers, we think it is very convenient closely located to them. It takes only one hour to Tokyo area where we have many customers. Also to Gunma, Saitama, and Tokyo areas, we can take a car conveniently.

We are manufacturing home appliance and tyre related production equipment. Within our company, tyre related equipment are only manufactured in this Kanto plant.
Further, we manufactures the rear part of processing line equipment of semi conductors for a specific manufacturer. Those are unique points of Kanto plant compared with other our company's plants.

In addition, we manufacture material handling equipment for every industries. Mechanical equipment to be used for improving the flow of materials is called Material handling equipment. When you have a plan for improvements of operations in mechanically, please ask us.

Other companies in this industrial park may have employees commuting from other regions, but most of our employees are local employed "Made in Tochigi" people.

Contributing Local Community

In addition to the cleaning activities around our factory, we accept internships for a week from technical high schools in several times per year.
Also in responding to a request from students of technical high schools, universities, or recruiting persons, we are planning to conduct a plant tour. We would like to support young local people who living in this community to make them as a leader of Japanese manufacturing.

In working with our employees in Tochigi, it seem that they are generally honesty and able to follow what he or she has been instructed in the organizations.
