Among the numerous cedar-lined avenues, its exceptionally beautiful and dignified appearance has earned it the name 'Namiki Taro' (meaning the most outstanding among the cedar trees). Its height reaches 38 meters. Previously, there was a cedar tree superior to Namiki Taro in this vicinity, which was called Ichiban Taro (meaning the first Taro). However, it died due to lightning strike damage and was cut down so that Namiki Taro, which was the Niban Taro (meaning the second Taro) at that time, has now become the current 'Namiki Taro'.
